I don't have shoe seasons because I just can't justify it. I wear my shoes all year round to work. I guess the only thing I wear kinda seasonal is my Leffot Tanker. I only wear it to work in the S/S if it is raining. My rotation is:

M-F
Alden X Leffot LWB
Alden Whiskey LWB
Alden Ravello medallion captoe
Alden #8 straight tip boot (4060)
Alden Brown CXL PTB
Edward Green Dark Oak Dover

Sat & Sun
Alden Brown CXL PTB
Rancourt loafers
New Balance 1600
Any of the above if I get dressed up

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out about this. I can confirm that these were made on the Barrie last as stated on the item description. If you find they don’t fit well or you are in any way unhappy with them, I’d be glad to facilitate an exchange and look at alternatives with you. We offer a variety of styles through our partnership with Alden—they are all well-built and made to last a lifetime!

Let me know if I can further assist with this or anything else! Always happy to help. My contact information is below for your convenience—feel free to reach out anytime. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,
Mary

I then asked her if Alden themselves verified this, to which she responded:

Hi,

Yes, this information is straight from Alden.

She sent this email at 1:15am PST. Given that I'm sure the Alden factory is closed at that hour, I very much doubt that she actually double checked with Alden. Can anyone else chime in on this issue?

If you compare the apex of the curves, that is a Barrie lasted shoe. Both sides are nearly even with each other. On the Hampton, the right side is noticeably higher than the left.

Looks like Barrie to me.

Hello all,

I purchased my first pair of Indy's just over a year ago and the heel lining has taken a bit of a beating.  This is probably down to the fact that I overlooked actually taking care of the inner leather of the boot as much as I do the outer.  I will be back in the UK in a few months and was hoping to get this issue sorted upon arrival and was wondering if anyone has any advice on where to send them/take them?

Many thanks!

Just when I thought my alden collection was complete, you go and post a shot of these. Very nice shoes and combination.

^ Thanks.  When Ravello is done right, and contains glossy shell and shades of orange, it's tough to beat.  Ties with Color 8 in certain instances, IMO.

Do you see yourself sticking with the brand long term, or is Alden just a passing fad in your sartorial evolution?

My seminal moment was in November of 2011. 6 high school friends and I (we graduated in 89) got together in Vancouver to see the Grey Cup. We were standing at a bar and I looked down and we were all wearing Bundstones. I immediately thought to myself “this is pathetic; I have to step up my game”. Being from a mid-sized town in Southern Ontario means that selection is very limited so I came to styleforum and started searching. 1st pair was the 975. 6 others have followed and I am on three “pre-orders”. Still reluctantly own one pair of Blundstone boots - yard work only.

Thanks for all your help guys!

Jason

Nicely done. I'm pretending I don't need a pair because I already have c&j ptbs for rl.
Very nice shoes.

^ You better hope SFTG doesn't see that blasphemy.  To him, Ravello isn't even king of the browns.  I take issue with the latter comment, and Ravello is absolutely king of the browns.
