Fills both ends of the spectrum, I think that is good for two pairs.

I would probably do the same. It would be a debate for on swapping the #8 for cigar but that is a tough call. I wear jeans a lot and think the cigar works better, unless of course its the leffot #8 like yours.

I want to buy both but not if the ravello has become significantly darker....

Here you go.

Thank you Mike. Hmm, they are fairly similar. I can see the cigars lightening up to what the ravello is. I wonder how much the ravellos would lighten up...

Decisions, decisions.

Thank you epc2. I see that there's a bigger difference with yours. Yours seem a little lighter than Mike's.

RTP - iirc the last two deliveries that came in we from different stores, mine in the photo are from NY and another batch from SF

The NY shoes came in with the light antique edging, and I think the last shoes I saw from SF had what was called med or dark antique (I can't recall the term exactly)

When I was doing my research, there was a noticeable difference between the two, and I was looking for the light...

Perhaps somebody with the SF shoe can post a pic.

Cheers,
BN

Also, be sure you're looking at the LWB and not the boots by its side.  The boots have commando soles and the toe area are actually black from the commando.

I can confirm my photo is the Light Antique edging

Here is an indoor photo of the last two shoes I picked up

I just spoke with Adam and he says it will be the Light Brown Antique trim, he said that Alden calls that "mid-tan". He also said that sometimes it comes a shade lighter or darker.

I am going to pass, I am sure another preorder will pop up at some point this year... I hope haha

^^^ Thanks for letting me know BN.  I'm still unsure that there is much of a difference between this "light antique" versus a "mid-tan antique."  I guess without them side by side and identified as one or the other, I can't tell much of a difference.

Looks like Burzan cracked the code

So "Light Antique" = "Light Brown Antique" = "Mid Tan", so by this logic perhaps "Dark Antique" = "Dark Brown Antique" = "Dark Tan"...

Who knows satisfied.gif

Still lost.  What would this be in your color coding of edge...

Is this (below) then light antique...

Which one is "Mid-tan" antique?  Or are none of the above mid-tan antique??

RTP, the top are dark antique. The bottom are medium antique. The whiskey LWB usually has light antique.

shoot over an email.. but act fast..

Can you confirm the email address kwhite? I just want to double check before I mail a check out. Do you guys know why credit card or debit card isn't accepted? Seems a little inconvenient that they only accept money orders and personal checks.

@ReppTiePrepster

I think mdubs answered you question - but there is no "mid tan Antique" per se - what Burzan figured out is, when a reseller tells us a shoe has a "light antique" or "light brown antique" edge (they are the same) - Alden themselves refer to this edge as "Mid Tan"

Or at least that's my interpretation of the info

Here is my best guess of what the upcoming AOC cigar LWB will look like based on the info we have. I do think the cigar will be even darker though because most of what we have seen recently reflects that.

I think that this is correct too. Tough to be 100% though I guess
