Yeah, I'm intrigued by those dovers at Unionmade too. Please excuse a (probably) stupid question from a non-local: if I walk to their SF store, purchase a pair there and ask them to ship to another state, I won't escape the sales tax?

^ My understanding is that so long as Unionmade does not have a store in the state to which you are shipping said item, you can avoid paying sales tax.

Just pulled the trigger on one of the new arrivals.

great looking PCTs!

Some pics of the new Dovers from the Unionmade site.

These are tempting... All three with unfinished/vintage edging and especially like the flat welt on the black regina grain.

I'd say that's a nice selection, good for every scenario nod[1].gif

It's pretty similar to the MTO AE's I had made recently, but they were Bals:

These, and the AE MTOs, are quite nice.

Color#8 captoe is about as versatile of a boot as there is good stuff.

first shoe i inspected looked totally fine to me. minor creasing, some wierd but minor discolorations, some fraying on the welt... all totally fine for me and especially fine for a seconds purchase.

but the left shoe both breaks my heart and pisses me off that some TSM employee had the gall to add in the "you may not crease these in order to return them!" inspection card.

You're still returning though, correct? Regardless of card, those are a mess and they will take them back. I've had the same issue with seconds. TSM should put a note on the order before the shoe goes out if it's not going to meet its own return guidelines.

If one could have only three, this would be a fine combination (provided you do not need a formal make-up from Alden).:slayer:
