looks like alpine grain is the latest to ship out of alden in quantity, given the recent jcrew offering and these from fransboone,

Congratulations. Both are nice and you should get a lot of use out of them. Especially the Cigar.Where's the cigar from? It's not the usual antique edge.

tifosi - i am quite confident that the Aberdeen last 8E would fit you well.

That is true. I hadn't considered going up a width. I never think about that with Alden. Although with stock models I guess it isn't that difficult to attain. Thanks for the suggestion.

En route to San Francisco at the moment . . . from a shoe perspective, besides Alden SF, where might be worth a visit?  Unionmade, I guess.  Anywhere else?

Allen Edmund is walking distance from Alden. Wilkes Bashford is on the same street as AE opposite side. Also a couple of nice Haberdasheries if your looking for hats also within walking distance.

I usually just go to Alden. Can't afford to go to too many shops. :-) But yes, Sutter St has a lot of nice shops and AE is a block or so away. Going from the Alden Shop to AE there is what really made me realize there is something special about Alden.

Unrelated,I sent a pair of cigar LWB's for recrafting. I think the Alden specialist working on my shoes was named john, but whomever it was, the level of service I received was exceptional. He was patient, helpful, and much more flexible than I ever imagined. He could see that my shoes were in prettily decent shape and offered to fix a couple of small issues without the full blown service. At one point he said he wasn't going to charge me but given that my requests changed a little, I don't know if that will ultimately be the case. Either way, the level of service far exceeded what I expected.

I'm currently testing this on my slightly odd colored Ravello PTB's. It's been almost a week of the darker one sitting out on a window sill, but unfortunately it's been cloudy almost that entire time. I'm going to leave it there for another 2 weeks at least - I'll be sure to post the results here.

Apologies about blinding you with my skin.. It has been a long time since Toronto has seen the sun and warmth!
