Congrats on your anniversary.  It is an important milestone!
Haha. I was just at Sherman two weeks ago.... Nada in my size.

Thanks, RTP.

Adam says he expects delivery October-ish.

There are some other new offerings listed similarly on the AoC site, such as the AF120, a brown Chromexcel boot with commando sole on Trubalance. It's listed on the AF88 page http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Shoes-Brown_High_Boot_213.htm

ah thanks very much, I had totally missed that.  a brown alpine grain longwing on commando sounds tempting!

I may hop on that Viberg derby MTO. Should age the same.

Do you find that you can wear the CXL shoe tighter than shell shoes?

The jeans are the Unbranded tapered 201.

Not sure what you mean by wear them tighter though, CXL has some stretch compared to shell so if the shoe was tight it would stretch a bit. I haven't found my pair to stretch much though as they are lined. The unlined brown stretches quite a bit from what I understand.

Hmm, sounds expensive, at least the cost of a new pair of shells or two. JK! Congrats to you both, have a great trip. Don't let the casino guys take all your money for them to buy shoes with :)

I can't belive it's only been 1 year for you, I thought for some reason you were married longer. We'll hit (gulp) 15 in September.

So what's in the bags?

Anther great make-up that I would gladly snag if the size were correct.

Thanks for the info! I'm 11EE in Barrie. I don't know that much about Viberg lasts. I emailed with Fok about the preorder, and was told: "The 2040 is a fixed width. I have a medium wide foot, and it fits me, but is snug. You may need a 2045, or the new 1035 last."

On the 2030, I'd say an 11 could work for you.

In my experience, 7.5e Trubalance fits like 8e Barrie. A 7.5EE would be wider than the 8E Barrie, FYI.

Up in width is always wider than up in length.

I initially had an order in for the same brown alpine LWB from Adam. Wanted to diversify and swapped them out for this pair of black alpine LWB because I'm waiting for the alpine grain NST from J Gilbert. I am also digging the alpine grain these days!

My experience is that the instep doesn't really stretch; rather, the cork footbed will compress a little bit, which should alleviate any minor discomfort you may have.  But don't count on getting too much relief from this, as the shell won't really give.  Tight insteps have limited the ability for many a gentleman to wear the LHS.

My latest attempt to relieve my discomfort from the instep was to use western boot trees in the LHS, so that they would stretch the strap a little bit.  They did to some degree, but you need to be careful not to tear the shell in doing so.

Conclusion: minor problem = you'll be fine; major problem = find another makeup.

Thanks

Nice mix, you will be well covered. Hopefully not in sand though!

Seems like the 4060 and PTB are staples for you, can't go wrong there.

Yea. Can't go wrong with the 4060. I use the CXL bluchers like sneakers. LOL.
