Got a pic of these?  I didn't know AoC did brown alpine grain LWB's and I can't find them on their site.

They are a little bit hard to find on the AoC site. They are listed on the same page as the AF104 (brown LWB): http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Shoes-Brown_Wing_Tip_235.htm
Adam says he expects delivery October-ish.

There are some other new offerings listed similarly on the AoC site, such as the AF120, a brown Chromexcel boot with commando sole on Trubalance. It's listed on the AF88 page http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Shoes-Brown_High_Boot_213.htm

Thanks for the info! I'm 11EE in Barrie. I don't know that much about Viberg lasts. I emailed with Fok about the preorder, and was told: "The 2040 is a fixed width. I have a medium wide foot, and it fits me, but is snug. You may need a 2045, or the new 1035 last."

PSA:  Someone wearing 11D tts needs to jump all over these.  I would if they were my size...

Awesome looking LHS!  They look like color 8, but I know Alden will not make the LHS on single leather soles with antique edge/welt.

To get things back on track - here is a comparison of the Cigar Cap Toes and the recent LWB, the color is pretty consistent across the two lots

Just when I get done convincing myself that I don't need more shoes/boots, sold more than acquired recently, have my shoe needs covered and have even run out of adequate shoe storage space you go and post these. Damn you!!

Thanks RTP. Sometimes I hit it long, sometimes I hit em' straight, and sometimes it happens during the same shot. Unbelievable! Rydenfan is a fine gentleman with wonderful tastes in footwear, even though it's been rumored that he's the head troll in the whole world wide troll conspiracy. (Just Kidding) Really!

The DV shot... :-) Well, I guess if I truly wanted a DV shot, I could have walked 5 more feet to my lawn...

My experience has been that they do get more comfortable as the footbed compresses

When I first started wearing mine, the instep bothered me - now they are fine..

My experience is that the instep doesn't really stretch; rather, the cork footbed will compress a little bit, which should alleviate any minor discomfort you may have.  But don't count on getting too much relief from this, as the shell won't really give.  Tight insteps have limited the ability for many a gentleman to wear the LHS.

My latest attempt to relieve my discomfort from the instep was to use western boot trees in the LHS, so that they would stretch the strap a little bit.  They did to some degree, but you need to be careful not to tear the shell in doing so.

Conclusion: minor problem = you'll be fine; major problem = find another makeup.

My friend, the Four Seasons is a mere 8-9 blocks away from Sherman Bros in Philly.  They always have a decent stock of Alden shell cordovan.  I found ravello LHS there a few years ago.  You should make a slight detour between brunch and Atlantic City!! :D

Congrats on your anniversary.  It is an important milestone!
