There are almost 3 days left on this auction, which has increased by $400 in the last hour. Incredible.

this is just a matter of curiosity:  it seems like a lot of people on here tie their LWB's really tight, to where the lace panels are really close together and the lace loops are quite long.  To me it kind've makes it look like the shoes might be a half size too big?

Those bluchers fit quite well on DonL.  If the panels/blucher flaps are touching each other when laced up, they are likely too big.  The space between the lacing panels are appropriate.  I can't speak to the appropriate size in length.

Holy crap. That is crazy....that's almost the price of new EG galways. Alden is really playing it smart with the "rare shell colors" thing. I never thought I'd spend $750 on a pair of shoes, but I just made my first full price purchase for cigar lwb's today (mainly to congratulate myself for finishing a year of hard work. I hope this is where it ends though with the full price purchases....). Alden has a really big following huh.

A welcomed bit of perspective. My prayers are with you and your family. May your #4's bring you close to the 2G I predict that they will.

if you were 11.5-12, I'd gladly have doubled your current going ebay amount, knowing the reasoning for your taking a step out of the shoe game.

Lol looks like my $1500 would have been a feeble effort.

Congrats on the daughter! I can't imagine a better reason for selling off some stuff, I did much the same after having my kiddo who is now 4.5.

#4 is a super duper awesome versatile color that goes with everything! I hope your auction goes for a ton so you can spoil your growing family. Good luck to you :)

I have never done a resole with BNelson's version of commando so I can't speak to its profile.

Longtime lurker in this entertaining and informative forum!

Alden vs. Nelson commando:

At these prices on #4, it will be interesting to see how many others are all of a sudden listed. jkater, if you still can, add the Global Shipping option and you may hit another level of crazy...you just ship to eBay in KY and it handles the rest.

Thanks SFT for posting the link to a bnelson resole and Tarnow for the comparison shot.

Tarnow, how do you like the Bnelson resole? looks like a goodyear commando like they use in some english brands. How do you like them as far as wear, comfort, grip? I may try these on a pair of wolverine 1k's

thank again for sharing

I'm sure I can, but I don't know if I want to deal with that just in case some knucklehead files a claim or something.
