There will be others, even if it takes a few years.  I just believe a size 7.5d would fit me better, and I would rather have one that fits good than one that just feels too large.
Exotic or not...no point in having a shoe that doesn't fit. Here's to another run of whiskey SW cheers.gif

Another run will get done, I am sure. I will probably get a second pair. They are like the absolute perfect San Diego shoe. :-)

It is probably better to get your shoes time phased anyways, that way they are at different points in their life as time passes.

If you know of a SWB Whiskey run please let me know. That's about the last Alden shoe that I would like to get.

Hi Seven... is that essentially the same as a "lug sole"?  Also, is it as low profile as the Alden commando sole?  Thanks for the assistance!

Go to this link and scroll down to see exactly what BNelsom has.

I have never done a resole with BNelson's version of commando so I can't speak to its profile.

^^ Well at least in those pics it doesn't seem as sleek as Alden's commando.

I dig the style, but does anyone else think the SWB whiskey (bal) is a dressy style in a casual shade of shell? I'd prefer to wear whiskey shell with casual and semi casual.

Gorgeous shoe, regardless.

Yes. That is exactly what it is. Perfect for casual California.

Agreed. She did that for my boots last week.

Well I'm sure one of them is going to work out and it doesn't really matter which one. Or I hope I'm in between sizes and I could make both work :D(wait..is that possible. Oh well, still hoping)

Congrats and hope that you can wear both comfortably (if not, at least one of them)!

I own the shoe in color 8 and black shell. Wear them in professional settings mostly.

Any oxford in a very light shade can be tricky. In some ways such a shoe contradicts itself (a closed lace shoe in a light color; a formal errr casual shoe, if you will). As for the model in question - whiskey SW - I purchased it a few years ago only to return it as I simply didn't see it playing a role in my wardrobe. Having said that, I nevertheless do maintain a reasonable number of lighter colored oxfords.

Part of it depends on how casual a guy is willing to go with an oxford. I personally don't go very far. But some do, and I'm ok with that.

Certainly a very nice shoe, however.

Thanks, they look good on those Brixtons, but they are not as low profile as Alden's commando.  Don't think I would put them on a shell blucher (i.e. 990) that I would want to dress up once in a while. Alden's commando has potential for some versatility.  I think you would lose that with B Nelson's commando.  I have not seen it in front of me, so guess I can't say this with certainty.

While it is an oxford/bal, the tremont last (somewhat round and bulky/ by no means sleek) and the double leather sole reduces its dressiness regardless of color.  It is still a shoe with a little versatility.  I have it and enjoy it fairly frequently.
