I picked up the whiskey LWB from Alden NY when they went on preorder last year and now wish I picked up the cigars as well! Great shoes, love the color!

HAHA
I cuff once in a while if I am wearing boots. Never with shoes. I feel like when I cuff it makes me look shorter. And that is not a good thing for me. My jeans are hemmed to a "no cuff" length.

Hey guys,

Want to get into my first pair of suede Aldens.  I want to do something brown-dark brown, chocolate or brown suede, because I have alot of tan suede already (non-Alden that I'll want to replace at some point, but they serve the purpose now).

I never really liked the Indy boot, but it has been growing on me alot.  I think in brown suede it's awesome!  However, I'm conflicted as it's about to be warmer out in the Northeast-Mid-Atlantic, so the other option is like a suede SW or LWB.

My office is definitely on the casual side.  I probably over-dress on a regular basis (and don't mind it).

What are your favorite brown suede makeups that are available out there and how versatile is it?

I've been rocking chocolate suede indy's for the last week. Got mine from North River Outfitter.

What about Alden's chukkas? I love them, especially the tan but since that's not an option I would go for the snuff suede.

These are so awesome!  That might be a done deal.

Hmmm... I do love chukkas and the color of these is pretty dark compared to what I already have.  These might be a great everyday shoe!

Shell belt with curve is Canadian
Shell belt with points was Alden

Both are stitched three piece so Horweens are the best as one piece

Still you can get dare I say vintage Alden gear from the old retailers not new boutiques

i understand this sentiment.  I had the same qualms.  I have found that this shoe works really well with sport coat and slacks, specifically all shades of grey wool pants, but partcularly medium grey to charcoal.  I think that combination looks really sharp.  The balmoral style makes the look more polished than a derby.   I suspect the shoe might work with navy, and it would certainly go with chocolate wool pants as well.  And more adventurous dressers might find it works with rust wool, etc. colors too.

As may be evident, i primarily wear these in the Fall, but they can work in Spring too and, I am sure, Summer.

I was wondering about the expression of wonder when I looked at the third line of the listing.  $1,150.  I guess anything is possible if you ask.  I always wonder if the "there is a schmuck born every minute"  approach really works?
