single monk night!
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Man those are sweet. And this from a guy who is not usually a big fan of black shell.
Finally got mine Plain toe chromexcel from ups ,
The welt used by the make ups from j crew and the plain toes from alden of san Francisco is different , i prefer the styling of the j crew ones a little more.
The j crews are a us8 and the natural cromexcel ones are a us8.5 , fu,I wear a wolverines us8 and the Chromexcel ones felt roughly around the same size, But the j crews us 8 are definitely smaller than the wolverines. Is there a tendency for the make ups from j crew to run a bit smaller ? .
I hope i am on the right track on sizing up mineself, only time would tell :/ ,
first thing that my eyes were drawn to, and in a good way.. I wouldn't fret.
Now I need to look after an #8 captoe since I sold the jcrew pcts...
They look great, Shawnc.
FYI It is leather, not wood.
I mentioned this process yesterday to those interested.
The only word of wisdom I feel obligated to say is the following...
Use masking tape on the upper to protect it during the sanding process.
I used painters tape, when I refurbished a pair of old Florsheims that I bought and sold.
You do not want to try to get sandpaper scratches out of shell.
All that talk yesterday about not spending money and being financially responsible and then I go and do this. Ugh. I am ashamed of myself. No, it wasn't a shoe but my other weakness and one that is much more expensive that led to my downfall - watches.
