It does not...

unless they are very casual.  Even then, I'd go for something else.  Just mhp, other reasonable people may disagree...

20's and 30's.

Even Nike Air Max are 200 dollars.....

I know you didn't mean it this way, but what are people in their 20's or 30's supposed to wear?  It almost sounds like the assumption is that younger folks should be wearing lessor brands until they old enough to appreciate a well made shoe.

Many thread members (including myself) are in this age range. I notice more Alden shoes among younger professionals every year. Over the past few months, I have been asked if I am wearing "JCrew Aldens", observed bankers swap their Ferragamo/Gucci loafers for Alden full straps, seen youngish guys trying on Aldens with their girlfriends at Leffot/AldenNYC, etc. GQ et all have been pushing the brand for years.

See Ya,

The contrast in the color of your stitching is inappropriate for formal jeans!  ;)

Thanks tifosi, TommyB and PeterL. I left for the gym shortly after missing out to burn off frustration and now I read I missed them again!

No, I don't mean it that way at all. I apologize if it came off that way.

I myself am in my 30's and have more pair of shoes/jeans/shirts... etc than I even care to count.

Fashion is important to this generation and the generation after mine. You spend how many years in college earning a diploma so you can afford things like this.

Alden is a fashionable brand right now! Don't believe me, use Pinterest and do a quick search.

Certain brands like Alden have become the fashionable shoe right now and with things skyrocketing in cost, 500-600 dollars is not as much as it once was. I was trying to put it into perspective by comparing other common items (cell phones, briefcases, athletic shoes).

Not only that but appearance means alot in the job market. Any of you guys that are on hiring boards know that if a kid walked in wearing a nice pair of shoes and sporting a clean cut look you would definitely consider them over other candidates who couldnt even bother. Am I saying its right to do this no.

This is all opinionated but the Leffot Tankers and LW's selling out in hours if not minutes just goes to show you that I'm not spewing garbage.

For any of you LWB w/ antique edge trim big-footed vultures who didn't get in on the Leffot frenzy, The Bureau in Belfast has the same shoe in 11, 11.5, and 12.5 available. Price with shipping is 502 Pounds.

I just received my first pair of Cigar today. Do all the cigar shell have black stains like that?

I was surprised at the pushback that I got from this statement when I made it.  Just look at the drastic increase in demand over the past few years.  What other explanation could account for it?

The antique edge does make quite a difference with the look. Looks better with it.

The question is not whether it looks cooler with the antique edge on its own, but which shoe will you actually wear with your particular wardrobe... That's an easy one for me...

Some do some don't. Some are worse than others. I'd definitely keep those. The light amount, and relatively even coating, will look great after you have some miles on them.
