Will do. Thanks

The shape of the boot and the way you laced them makes them casual enough for jeans, and the cap toe and color give it a dressy-casual feel. Really like the combo and may try the same this weekend with my color 8 dovers.

Your boots are awesome. I love the color and think they pair well w denim, EVEN faded denim.
Rock on.

Thanks, gents.  I'm glad my instincts are still correct on occasion!

Dumb question, but are you sure they're Aldens?  None of the shoes currently on the BF page are even made in the U.S.

Just called to see if lightning would strike twice, but no luck.  (Asked about 9.5 and 10.)  Interestingly, though, the SA told me they hadn't been discontinued, so perhaps a restock will happen someday . . . .

Thank you. That green is great and versatile. The pants are olive rivet chinos (I think). I wish Epaulet tags gave more info than just the size. I can't always remember the colors and fabrics.

Armoury for Epaulet, but they have sold out. I saw the same jeans at leather soul Honolulu a couple of weeks ago. These are my new favorite jeans.

Thanks for the helpful feedback, guys. Wish that BB had my Barrie size in stock so I could at least try them on - I called them and they said there are none in stores/inventory, and there are no plans to re-stock anytime soon. Width actually feels fine on these. I'll be in SF in two weeks, so I'll have to stop by Alden SF (for the first time!) to try on the 9D and 9E to see how they compare.

odessa - How long have you had your suede dovers, and have you noticed any stretching?

I have only had them for a couple months. I have not noticed significant stretching, however they were not tight at all when they were purchased, they fit comfortably from the beginning so there was not any pressure forcing them to stretch... I have heard that the suede will "ease" but I would not rely on it to give you a whole width up. I was say if the width is right but they are indeed long, then a 9E would match the 9 1/2D in width, but give you the desired length...

Too bad - hopefully BB will restock sooner than later. I'm considering sending them to b. Nelson for dainite soles to make it even better for rainy/wet days.

color is black

(1) AE travel size
or
(2) http://www.hangerproject.com/saphir-renovating-recolorant-repair-cream.html

Option 2 will give you more of a matte finish, and is less prone to chipping.

Very nice! I really like the medallion shape. There was discussion on the C&J thread about how...suggestive..their medallions look.. Not the case with yours. Fits the shape of the shoe perfectly. Classic look.

Yea or nay?

Definitely Yea. Those are sweet boots with a really nice shine. Never heard the 'rule' but context leads me to believe faded denim and color 8 is a no-no. If so, I break that rule at least once a week.

Is this shell bloom/spue? Is there away to tell definitively? Could it be mildew? Thanks in advance.

Does it brush right off?

Nearly every pair of shell shoes/boots I've gotten from The Shoe Mart has had similar white flecks on them but it always brushes right off. I always chalked it up to some sort of dust floating around in their warehouse or maybe even from Alden's facility and smaller retailers are more apt to brush it off before shipping it out but TSM doesn't.
