Hi all...longtime lurker, new poster, and huge Alden fan; my current inventory includes:

LWB w/double leather sole in black shell, #8 shell, cigar shell, and navy suede

NST w/double leather sole in black shell, #8 shell, and cigar shell

Chukka w/double leather sole in black shell, #8 shell, and cigar shell

Chukka w/commando sole in black calf, brown calf, and #8 shell

Chukka w/lug sole in kudu

Indy w/police sole in heavy waxed leather

PTB w/double leather sole in ravello shell and natural CXL

Saddle w/single leather sole in alpine brown and #8 shell

All are 7.5D on the Barrie last (except the Indy, of course), which fits me perfectly.

Question: does anyone know of any current availability, pre-orders, or waitlists for anything interesting (i.e. a bit out of the ordinary or in an exotic shell color) on the Barrie last?  At the top of my wishlist is a PTB or chukka in whiskey, but I recognize the difficulty in sourcing them.

This thread has been immensely informative, and I thank you in advance for your input!

Saz, those are some awesome PTBs! What does the 514 refer to?

2) What type of welt is that? reverse welt/ wheeling in natural color? The contrast looks pretty neat

Amazing shoes. I got a pair coming from SF Alden.
What last is that Tanker on?

The Cigar LWB from Alden NY and the Context Tanker...

Do they have more or are they all spoken for? I've been looking for some cigar LWB in 11.5 for a while.

Very attractive shoe, although I haven't totally figured out what one wears milkshake suede with, without doing the Southern dandy look. Any advice?

The BB pair is definitely Barrie. I also have a pair of unlined snuff suede PTB on Barrie last to compare them to, the measured exactly the same and fits the same. That being said, both unlined pairs look a lot sleeker than my Barried lasted boots. The tapered look is perhaps due to the fact that they are unlined?

While I can't say for sure, it is unlikely - this was a full pay preorder from Oct/Nov of last year...

Your best bet is to call and try to find out when their next order is and get on a list with NY or SF

Cheers,

BN

Unlined suede models on the barrie look and fit differently than various lined Barrie models such as PTB, LWB, etc.

The suede "Dovers" on the Barrie as well as the unlined CXL Dover on the Barrie all look sleeker that the typical PTB on the Barrie. Not sure if it has to do with the unlined nature, or the Dover style, or both.

Interestingly, the suede Dovers required me to size up a width to E, while the CXL Dover I had fit me fine in my typical Barrie size.

Any difference in the fit of the unlined suede dover vs. A barrie boot?

not enough to change size but I find the dover to have a bit more room in the vamp and toe box. Although I find this for most Barrie shoes vs. boots
