Use the other options that indicate your purchasing an item. In the description put a full out description of what you told you were going to get. To a T! Size, color, style, condition... etc.

This will make it an official transaction for an item and allow you to create a Paypal dispute for a return of your funds if you do not receive what you expected or what you were told. Honestly if you gift money to a seller, they could send you a coffee cup and there is little you could do about it. So make sure that you really trust the person.

Thank you all for the answers! I think I've figured out my solution.

Not sure about the red microsole, but here's the white buck, unlined dover cut...

So my pair of whiskey LWB from Alden NY arrived this afternoon. Images are pretty true to color with the Alden box in the background to compare. Overall super happy with the shoes! happy.gif

Thanks RTP, but I saw these already, and the sole is not what I want.

did you try checking in with leffot?

Thanks for the recommendation. The only thing I see on their site is a longwing blucher in white suede. It's not what I am looking for. Perhaps I will call them.  It seems like a couple years ago, several stores stocked the Alden white (plain toe) buck with red soles.

Thanks doc. I appreciate it.

It's the same model the Shoe Mart carries.  I will have to investigate at some point.

Hmm I don't think I've personally seen anyone wear cordovan boots (or any boot) in the summer. I'm sure they won't trap too much extra heat, but I just can't imagine it pairing too well with a summer look. Trying to google some good casual summer looks that can incorporate my #8 shell boots but can't seem to find any. Navy/beige chino, white shirt-collar polo, #8 PCT/wingtip boot? Gahh that won't work. I guess they do need to go away until fall.

For cordovan, I'll take Alden Horween over Tricker's Comipel 10 out of 10 times but that's not to say the Comipel is filth. I have a few pairs and they're okay.
I'm pretty sure Alden and Tricker's use a lot of the same suppliers of cow (both smooth and suede).
I prefer the Tricker's Cavalier over the Chromexcel that Alden uses although they're both cxl leathers from Horween I believe.

Build quality is comparable but Tricker's is much better in care of finishing although they have their off days too.

I'm fairly certain that Tricker's uses Stead repello for their suedes, does Alden use the same?

Does anyone own Cigar LWB 97896 from SF? Want to see how different compares to recently batch from NYC.

Any pics would give me much helps. Thanks - Tee
