Did everyone who got the whiskey LWB from Alden NYC get a call or email letting them know they were on the way?

There is ways to protect yourself with Paypal. One way is to not do the typical gifted money that most sellers ask for. Gift reduces the fees but it also doesnt protect you at all.

Use the other options that indicate your purchasing an item. In the description put a full out description of what you told you were going to get. To a T! Size, color, style, condition... etc.

This will make it an official transaction for an item and allow you to create a Paypal dispute for a return of your funds if you do not receive what you expected or what you were told. Honestly if you gift money to a seller, they could send you a coffee cup and there is little you could do about it. So make sure that you really trust the person.

not to say Don doesn't get a great shine to his footwear...but kind in mind there is more certainly a filter applied to that picture to create a deeper contrast

Correct.  The color is accurate but the shine is the result of the filtering.  However, brushing CXL produces a pretty nice shine.

Haha, what a frustrating experience that would be. It takes almost 2 weeks to get stuff here in Canada so to wait a month for the full pair would be torture.

I personally believe in the "Buy Your Seller" as Tif stated, I deal on a fragrance forum and have sent/received many packages all over the world and always love great communication. When dealing with other peoples money on a trust basis you have to help them feel as comfortable as possible. I typically send a photograph of the postage paid package along with providing tracking whenever possible (can't on small packages like fragrance decants without a large fee).

Hahahaha.

But then he could make that same deal with someone else and have them send the other foot. Then he'd have 1 complete set, and the 2 guys that got scammed would each be left holding 1 shoe.

I know someone in HS that stole 1 shoe from display at foot locker and then next week came back and stole the other 1 that they had put up to replace it. He ended up with a complete pair. Which is where I got the idea for the above posted scam.

These are not Aldens but I think they're a good example of how a little VSC and a good brush/buff can really make CXL pop:

Hilarious idea, Bakes. And I do the same as Burzan in transactions -- good communication, photos of posted package, shipping tracking and confirmation.
