Just scored a practically new pair of Shoemart tobacco chamois Indy's from ebay. Of course, knowing this group, the lack of bidding action got me wondering if I really scored. wink.gif

In any event, first foray into Indy's and really digging the look and when they say "heavily oiled," they ain't kidding. Any tips on maintenance? Some here mentioned Montana Pitch Blend. Anyone have luck with that? Also, with the oil, do I need a dedicated brush?

Because the double leather sole has double the sole?

I have 3 pairs of Alden unlined shoes with flex sole. They felt like they have 0 cushioning at the bottom in the beginning, but they all broke in very quickly and with 4~5 wears the sole become very soft and very comfy.

That being said, because I have 3 pairs of unlined shoes with flex sole - the last pair was purchased a week ago (snuff unlined PTB) - I decided to go with the lined one with Haberdash... for a different feel. The description says the color is milkshake, which is supposed to be lighter than tan. Though the color looks very similar to the BB one. I do prefer tighter color sole edge on this one, however.

I was thinking Tankers which sold out in about an hour. Compared to that it's not hot but yes, a week is still pretty quick.

Tobacco chamois Indy is OK--not my favorite make-up, but it's going to be a great beater boot. I don't think there's any need to treat the leather. This said, I've heard people using neatsfoot oil on chamois once a year.

Any comparisons / commentary on the merits of the Alden's vs the AE Macneils in cordovan?

Don't get me started (it's not even close!).  You should check out the thread...

I already have snuff LHS, snuff PTB and tan chukka in the rotation.

Get all three!  I'd get them all in this order... snuff LWB, BB snuff tassels (on sale right now!), and tan suede LWB
