Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I missed the call from Alden NY last Wednesday.  They didn't leave me a message and only got to talk to them yesterday.  So I need to wait a couple of extra days before my pre-order arrives.  After seeing this, I'm now on pins and needles.  It will absolutely be devastating if I find myself in @jp2k1 shoes :slapfight:.

Fabulous!  Couldn't afford both the cigar and whiskey pre-order.  Next time.

Since these would be for casual wear and likely slightly thicker socks, it appears as though it might work. The question is whether I want to rill the dice.

I'm guessing you're eyeing the last 9E #8 Dovers from Leffot.  When I size up a width my toes normally feel good but then the heel feels sloppy.  I guess you could throw in some insoles to make them fit a bit better though.  But as Tif said, it all depends how barrie 9D fits you.

Unless you're a detective, you missed you're calling (though for this crowd it probably wasn't that challenging of a riddle). The 9D is a good fit (no extra room) so if the Dover runs a little tight, these may work. I'll sit on it for a day or so and see how I feel on Monday. I think it's the last one available so who knows, someone else may make the decision for me.

That's a problem.  This isn't character, it's lack of craftsmanship. You wouldn't let a carpenter get away with that if you paid a premium for hand made cabinets, and you'd be pretty pissed off with a plumber if his work leaked.  Don't let Alden get away with this, loose stitching, mismatched eyelets or other blatantly careless errors either.

I say keep'em. It is very difficult to tell from photos(sunlight, flash or no flash) what it looks like to the naked eye. I've taken pics where I see things on my shoes that I would have never known where there.

I truly believe after you wear them a few times, the difference well be negligible.

But if it bothers you, and you know it will continue to, then you have your answer.

@jp2k1 ^^ Sound advice there. If something bothered me; every member could reply and tell me to keep them, but it wouldn't change my mind. I have a feeling you know what you want to do.

Yes, sometimes I need to sit on it for a day or two.  That being said the color is quite rich and not flat, which is nice
