I'm not a native speaker, but it does sound ambiguous even to me :smarmy:

While I do like the NST and intend to pick on up in the near future, compared to Edward Green's precision sewn split toe, Alden's version looks like a keloid scar.

I have various Alden NSTs and various EG Dovers. I like them both. The split-toe of the NST is much more pronounced, and that is intentional. Some like a more pronounced split toe while others prefer a more subdued split toe.

I believe it has been tabled for discussion without a clear consensus for the specs. I have a lot of doak and would like to see a almond CC. The nst blucher in color 8 is also my next alden purchase.

Like I said a slippery slope my friend.
Kinda glad I have been missing out on some of the recent exotics allows my CC to cool down. 2013 was brutal.

Do you guys know if this color difference PTBs and Chukkas is expected (and if shoes at Alden's own shops would be the same)?  Or could Epaulet be specifically ordering slightly different colors for these two shoes - but calling them both "snuff"?

Interestingly, I went to Alden on Madison today and found the same thing: snuff suede on the chukkas is a bit darker than on the PTBs.

Alden on Madison had my size in the chukkas (Epaulet did not) and I pulled the trigger :)

Any pictures of Dovers in unlined CXL in the wild? I need a couple of casual shoe options, would appreciate any recommendations as well.

$787 context tankers. Who will be the first to crack the 8-handle?

Seems just yesterday $700 was the top. Alcibiades is right - just about time to say goodbye to shell.

I think the point is that it is making less and less sense to keep the marginal cordovan shoe in your collection. Color 8 tankers may well be worth $800 in a vacuum because they are great boots that tend to get worn a lot. However, adding the second, third, fourth, sixth (or whatever) color 8 boot makes incrementally less sense as the prices and resale values go up.
