Those are definitely Aldens. They are made on the Aberdeen last and just labeled as Brooks Brothers (this is actually done by Alden). Great shoes, I hope that they fit you well and that you are able to enjoy them!

I hear you guys on this. The ptb best shows off the sheen and patina of shell. But, I still struggle with christening it as the ultimate Alden shoe. I still think I'd take the 975 as my most useful color 8 shoe. (I still think I have a bias toward more ornamented shoes; I realize that others see it the opposite way, with the simplicity of the ptb making it most versatile). Accordingly, I made sure to have both in the stable.

I would echo your sentiment, except I can't crown the 975 King since Cigar LWB is the real King of Gunboats.

In fact, Cigar LWB is one of only 2 models where a color other than Color 8 reigns supreme (other possible exception being Whiskey LHS).

Others may disagree, and for this, we have multiple Aldens in the stable! :slayer:

Just got back from Paris where I visited Anatomica. The guys there were very helpful, they measured my feet with the Brannock device & gave me a lot of tips about the Alden lasts. They carry only Modified last as they believe it is the most comfortable. The shock for me was that I was measured 10,5c while I wear 9 d on Barrie! They told me that a lot of people that visit them turn up wearing the wrong size their whole life. He insisted in me trying the 10,5 c & it fit perfectly with a bit of room space up front. I ended up buying 2 pairs, one of which I am posting above, an unlined color 8 cordovan, code 5610. Amazing shoe! Can we find c sizing anywhere? Is it possible to have so different sizing with the other lasts? Has this happened to anyone else?

Alden makes C width in a lot of their regular/stock models.  I wear a C and in my experience, if the Alden store doesn't have it, they can order from the factory.  However for the exotics and special retailer make-ups, you'll have to pre-order.  So if you need immediate gratification, you're going to be frustrated.  But with patience and luck, you can get the right size.

Almost like my heel needs to sink down more but I don't think it will as my pair is second hand, I'm not sure how much more break in they will have.  I don't know if I could size down with any luck as the shoe seems to fit perfectly otherwise. For reference I measure around an 8.25 on the Brannock. I also have a low instep and narrow heels compared to the ball of my feet, some lasts have been tricky for me.

i also "suffer" from narrow heels/low instep/low volume foot so i feel your pain. an A/D shoe would work really well for me, but unfortunately Alden no longer offers combination lasts that deviate more than two letters (i.e. more than A/C, B/D, or C/E), even though they still market this feature. it's for this reason i mostly stick to alden boots now as the extra lacing provides better support and a more comfortable fit. luckily i'm more of a boot guy than an lwb guy. i do wish the suede dovers fit me better though.

I wasn't planning to wear these shoes yesterday, but I decided to go with the gray, blue, and brown socks. The gray and blue corresponded with the suit (gray with a blue plaid pattern inlaid) and tie (light blue), so I had to go Cigar with the brown... :-) Cigar belt of course! But trying not to post what can construed as a crotch shot...

Very well done all around.  I am willing to make an exception for the crotch shot, provided there is additional shell cordovan within proximity.

i was not a fan of modified too but when you wear the proper sized shoe & you feel the comfort it is only psychological after that. my feet looked longer & more stylish. the guys there are fun you should visit if you get the chance. no rare shell, they have some ptb makeups of their own that are interesting. they have been working with Alden for 20yrs. ask for Cosmos

I'm usually not as big on cigar as most of you guys but I do love the color and patina on those.

+1, I'm hoping the new Cigar batch from Alden NYC scheduled for delivery sometime around June looks like this, a nice chocolate brown with slight olive hues.

Leffot LWB's again today. In natural light doing my best to not post an inadvertent crotch shot. Hopefully the tie covers

If it had to, I feel as though my wardrobe could live off of Color #8 and Natural CXL
