definitely, being only a few days old it really pissed me off so I'm glad it worked out pretty well.

our loafers and shorts posts remind me of an interesting article that popped up a year ago regarding why men should never wear shorts in public. i found patients debated this issue back and forth for weeks.

for me, I like the unlined chukka or the unlined suede lhs for shorts. maybe a white buck or suede lwb if you're dressing up the shorts.

Take this for what it's worth, but for my part there aren't that many shoes I won't wear with shorts.  E.g., I have casual bals (like the AE Neumok), PTBs (bucks and nubucks), saddles, spectators, and other dressier-than-sneakers-and-boat-shoes-and-loafers shoes that I will wear with shorts without hesitation.

My one rule is . . . NO SOCKS.  Loafer socks, yes - but nothing visible.

Wanted to get opinions of the group on a better unlined tan suede summer shoe. I'm thinking with pants or shorts, and socks optional. Versatility is key. I can't get both. Pics from Unionmade.

Northeast trads wear shorts with loafers sans socks all the time.  Not my personal style, but the traditional Bermudian uniform of blazer/shorts/over-the-calf socks/tassel loafers is not only acceptable, but frequently seen at dressier events.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I really like that Bermuda look, but (a) I would not wear it outside of Bermuda, and (b) most people who wear loafers with shorts and socks don't also wear blazers, dress shirts, and ties.

Are we threadjacking yet?

I had each of these models in my house last week - literally. I was only keeping one. I went with the shoe. B-Day present from wife. A good woman indeed.

This may have been on some of the earlier JGilbert posts, but the Color 8 Plaza Commando WT Boot shipped from Alden on 2/27 so emails will go out shortly. 18 pairs, 17 sold, 1 10D slot was open...not anymore :slayer:
