Hi Gents - looking to purchase a snuff boot and looking for your thoughts for those who own them. Are the LS and Context boot essentially the same boot?

1. Fransboone parajumper (grant last which is a plus, but cost an arm and a leg to get them stateside)
2. LS PTBoot
3. Leffot Cooney
4. Context Roy

How would you rank these?

The kudu leather chukkas just got delivered. They're actually much nicer in person than I expected. I was expecting a much rougher type of leather. If Kudu really is pretty indestructible, I think I might be holding on to these. Just have to walk around the house in these for a bit to make sure they're not rubbing against anything.

These are on the Barrie last but don't look clunky at all. I think it might just be the shell offerings on the Barrie last that look a bit bulbous to me. I didn't like the #8 chukkas or the black shell PTBs when I saw them at Alden DC.

Grant last is nice, but I could do without the brass hooks & eyelets on snuff (and yes, the cost). Also Plaza and Barrie wingtip options out there. I was going to sell one of mine, but decided against it...two months of snow must have made me crazy.

If ever you change your mind, do let me know. Beautiful boot...

Also, let's try to see if we can persuade her to do a plaza color 8 nst boot makeup with antique edge. She tells me she's thinking about it...
Wish I saw this post earlier...I would've jumped all over those Ravello ptbs. Congrats to whoever snagged them. And let me know if they don't fit!!

Would you mind posting some pictures of the Kudu Chukka? I know they abound, but you mention they feel sleeker than expected, curious to see...

Thanks. Also, I believe Context is TruBalance and LS flex is Barrie. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Just pick the best style/last that works for you.

First off I'm not getting bitchy just stating a fact. I will return the boots that is the point. Also I can get bitchy with who ever I want to.

I'll get them up next time I try them on. The wife's at home now so that's a no go until I decide I am actually keeping them.

And remember that me saying they feel sleeker is in comparison to when I saw the shell chukkas in person. Even then in store, I thought their brown leather ones looked sleeker than the #8 offering when I saw them side by side.

May be worth a call to see if they are still in the system.
I've got a personal haberdasher at the MPLS BB store and will undoubtedly be able to assist me with this particular search.
