Gorgeous! I'm wearing the same today. The #8 shell used on this batch is super!

My kidneys are in fairly good condition. Not sure about 90% specifically, but I've not had a problem with them thus far.

I remember hearing that Alden was done using #4 entirely - I thought I read that here? Can anyone confirm?

Let's focus on things I may actually get to buy some day if I win the lottery, like Porsches and such.

I was told this by the sales associate at Alden SF last week.

Furthermore, with seven days left in the auction, I assume the price will rise considerably.

The bidding is at 425 and the reserve is not met - and the auction is open for another 7 days. The BIN price is 547. This always strikes me as curious - as I don't understand why a guy wouldn't pay an extra 122 to just secure them. Moreover, the final bid price will exceed 547 if the BIN price is removed.

note: This is not my auction. I am not an ebay seller.

Ive noticed this behavior more and more lately, it is certainly a level of irrational thinking that auctions seem to spark in the human condition.  Sometimes I think the only one winning in this is *bay.

I thought so too, but I always use Ashland leather as my barometer. Whenever I see a few Whiskey or Cigar wallets put up I know that at least some amount of leather has recently existed. Within the last 60 days or so they did have a few #4 offerings, so you never know...

brilliant. i noticed that on my "e" width 4060, the slopes of the toebox are much less pronounced and resemble barrie d width which has a fuller toebox. my "d" width 4064 toe box slopes are much sharper, resembling your pair

I have been thinking the same, they have even had some color #2 although I couldnt say for sure Alden ever produced a color #2 model.  Last night I was having trouble sleeping and I stumbled on these:

which may help explain where #4 is heading.  Sidenote:  I think they are pretty badas* although I dont think I could ever see myself rocking these regardless of cost

I heard from Epaulet that Alden will no longer use #4. I don't know how reliable this information is.

I would say #4 cap toe boots with all eyelets. I'd pay about $1200 provided they don't have the typical Alden issues....

^ why not get a boot from another shoemaker? which have you tried and thought were less than Alden?
