Yeah, I really like those but $600+ is a lot for Alden suede.

that it is...

I still have to come to terms with the fact that I have a pair of snuff AE chukkas unworn, and a pair of these

that are both unworn. another pair of snuff might seem redundant at the moment lol

embarassingly, I'll admit that for the last week straight or so, these have been in heavy rotatation

if alden stepped outside of its self, looked at what some of the other companies out there are doing.. in this case, be it Oakstreet, or PW minor :lurk:, I think they'd open up a whole new section of clientele.

sorry for the  non alden rant and content

lengthy thread over on reddit about how their boots are made by PWMinor out of NY (not sure if thats a good or bad thing), but my roughout trenches are ridiculous comfortable, and with the dainite soles have been bulletproof. the nature of the roughout will take on some jean bleed, but I intend on beating the shit out of these and not caring whatsoever as to their outcome.

back to alden, my natty tankers, 403 indys, and brown grain swb from LS boots are all getting boxed up for a while while these oakstreets get their turn.

last I read on the reddit thread (maybe goodyear subreddit), I think the Cranes guy from on here was looking into a beefed up version with a more aggressive sole (to try out over his wolverines he posts on SF a lot). depending on that sole, I my try and send back and swap

/non alden talk. back to random compliments etc (no disrespect intended)

screw it, we're adding content imo, be it alden or not.

I have two pair of oakstreet mocs, peanut suede and blue suede on red brick. construction and fitment are spot on.

for boats, I went with newenglandouterwear. two pair there, only used one pair heavily last year and super happy. a custom leather pair (bulldog maybe) didnt arrive until after summer, so they wont see use for a couple more months it seems.

wow like a beefed up sole for wolverine? Like a triple leather or commando? Ive seen some of his stuff and im surprised he's done so much on just leather outsoles. wonder if alden has anything comparable

George contacted me a little while ago and told me he has a sole that just might be what I'm after. Yeah baby, my custom super duty Trench HDs are in the works. LOL! Sounds like a Dodge truck commercial. ROFLMAO!

I want a pair of these in LWB but lack of sizing confidence scares me due to price

What's the difference between this and the standard suede Dover except for the brass eyelets? I have a sand suede one and that's the only difference I can recall.

Same here with a pair of sand suede Dovers and snuff suede unlined Chukkas. Both brand new in the box waiting for the weather to heat up a few months from now so I can start wearing them. Not sure what AE chukkas you have (Amoks or Malverns maybe) but neither one of those worked for my feet so I'm hoping the Alden unlined ones will fit my foot better but won't find out about the Leydon last until I get to wear them outside for an extended period of time.
