I know I've seen an Alden color #8 longwing with natural edge soles, but where? I can't for the life of me remember.

I have a Whiskey Longwing and the Ravello Wingtip boot - what's the best cream or polish to use out there for them and should I be using two different brushes for them? Plus, what's the difference between the black horsehair brush and white horsehair brush? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I went in J Gilbert on my lunch break a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I think what they have posted on the website is pretty close to what they have in stock. You might consider also popping into the Field House in Ballard if you're in town. I prefer the styles they have to offer a little more than those at Gilbert.

I'm just wondering if I should size down a half size, which means I would be sizing 1 full size down from my 8.6D Leydon last shoe? I'm also wondering if it's because the dress socks I wear are super thin like most dress socks with the lycra stretch in it.
According to the Brannock Device (this thing, http://www.brannock.com/), I'm a solid 10.5 D. However, I'm very comfortable in a 9.5 D Alden Plain Toe Blucher in the Barrie last. I could almost get by in a 9 D. 10 D was sloppy. Get your smallest, comfortable size as smaller equals better silhouette. 'Am hoping now that sizing is standard across styles. I just ordered the LWB in cigar, 9.5 D. Wish me luck!

Those LS cigars are perfect. An incredibly handsome configuration.

Quick question...should I be getting a small or medium Alden shoe tree for the Ravello Wingtip Boot and Longwing both in the Barrie last size 8D? I was told Medium but someone said that cordovan may stretch overtime. I thought that cordovan doesn't stretch.

I use size small in my size 7D Barrie lasted shoes and they're probably on the smaller side. I think you'd be OK with a medium - assuming you're talking about Alden brand or something with a similar shape.

Please forgive me, but I have been lurking a while and would love to make a move on some Alden Indys.

I have messaged some people on this forum, and have emailed some stockists regarding sizes, as I am Brisbane Australia with no way of trying some on.

I wear a 9.5EE with my Katahdins, and so am looking for advice on Indys. I know they run big. I received an email back from Ed at Shoemart saying "probably a 9EEE".

I have no experience whatsoever with EEE sizing. Without doubting his word (this is an expensive thing to get wrong), I thought I would go to people who wear these boots. Would that be a good fit? Would the extra width be what I need only going down half a size?

Really keen for a pair of Indys, but I really don't want to get it wrong and have to sort through the returns etc.

Any help welcome. Thanks.

i'd say go with a 9 EE. the general consensus with indy sizing is just to go a half size down. i don't know why the situation would be any different in your case. but i'd wait for tom to chime in and say his piece as well.
