That said, props to NAMOR for not being afraid to wear his ravello NSTs to oysterpalooza 2014..

my mouth is watering again

cleaned up the old jcrew captoe boots. my best mdub impersonation:

they were on sale at $318 so they were priced closed to what seconds would be.....any suggestions?

Are they both in the same location?  That could be where they tacked the upper to the last during the lasting phase of making the boots, which would be normal.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.  If color 8 was as rare as the "rare shell" colors, it would be by far the most sought after and desirable color to own.

some of alden's best makeups are the ones that are readily available

Same here. I think I'm up to 5 now with the recent order of those blue suede bluchers. Haven't really gotten in to the Alden boots or any of the nicer leather ones yet.

1. Indy from JCrew

2. unlined Dovers in brown leather

3. unlined Dovers in sand suede

4. unlined Chukkas in snuff suede

5. unlined blue suede Dovers?

Without a doubt. It is the king for a reason. Most versatile colour, and damn beautiful if you ask me!

 yes....same location on each shoe

I also ordered the natural/commando chukka in #8 and each of those has the same pinhole in the same location

sounds like no big deal

No big deal.  It's where they attached the uppers to the last with a small nail during production.

Those cap toes are so shiny that this photo is practically a self-portrait.

I realized this as I continued to reach for color 8 and black models over some of the whiskey and cigar models I ended up selling. I've sold so many cigar and whiskey (whiskey Indy, cigar Indy, whiskey NST, two cigar NST, cigar PTB, whiskey wingtip) models in favor of models that I actually wear (black tanker, color 8 wingtip boot, color 8 PTB, black NST, color 8 wingtip). It's happening again as I wear my color 8 BB wingtips and my black 9016 way more than my cigar balmoral captoes. I feel that may change by the spring, though...

My cigar captoe boots, cigar chukkas and whiskey PTB are untouchable, though.

Superb. The plaza last looks awesome. That is an incredible shine too. Mac method or do you add wax?

Great chinos as well. I don't see them on WvG's site - do they not sell those anymore?
