Ravello, it's exotic, but still very versatile.

Hi, does anybody have any knowledge of how the truflare last fits? is it like Barrie and Trubalance in that you should size down by up to a half size or is it a more standard fitting last that is true to size? I'd like to know so appreciate your help.

That's part of the orthopedic line. (Although I guess the trubalance is too)

Anyone familiar with shoes from Sherman Brothers? I saw a pair of used PTBs from them that were marked on the leather sole with a sharpie. Does this indicate their seconds or just can't be returned? I've purchased a number of Alden seconds from Shoemart and none of them were marked on the sole.

Out of 10+ pairs of Alden's, I just got my first pair on the crepe sole. The horror stories about premature wearing, along with owning several lug soled Alden's for bad weather, I never felt the need to pick up a pair with the crepe sole before. But then I saw a really nice pair of Chamois Indy's and decided to get them.

And I must say WOW. . .the comfort is unparalleled compared to my other pairs. Not that any pair of Alden's I own is uncomfortable, but the crepe sole just gives you such a bounce, especially if you stand around all day. Highly, highly recommend this sole (of course I will have to see how long they last, but for now I am already thinking about a second pair).

All of my Alden boots are on the plantation crepe sole. I agree totally worth it.

Owners of the Context ROY boot:

I'm writing a piece for my blog about the iconic ROY boot and am looking for feedback from owners.

Please PM me with your thoughts on why you love the ROY!

Just got these in the mail today, from J. Crew (and for anyone wondering, the 20% off coupon DID WORK!!!!). They are a half size smaller than I normally wear, but they fit like a glove, must be the shell.

They will be worn in Vegas this weekend for the first time,

BTW. . .on a side note, has anyone ever gotten a new Alden green shoe box that was NOT damaged in some way? Every single one I have come across has a rip or dent someplace. What are they doing to these boxes, or are they just poor quality?

Phantom, Great boots. Does anyone know where (or if?) one can get a plaza last wingtip from alden? I've been searching for it forever, seems like the only wingtips are done in the barrie last. Why is this style not more popular?

The shell wingtip Brooks Brothers sells in made on a last that's either identical, or nearly so, to the Plaza. This is a Balmoral though. If you want open lacing, check out alden of carmel. They do a lot of wingtips on a number of lasts.

So on the rare occasion that I find a pair of Alden Indy's up for sale here in the B&S, people state that the shoe has never been worn and they are selling it because it doesn't fit right. Why wouldn't they just return them? I know it depends on where they got them, but I've been debating for awhile now about getting a pair and Shoemart's return policy says they will accept returns but be sure to wear the shoes on carpet before you decide to keep them. Is this policy true or will I have problems returning them if I don't like them?
