I remember seeing them (and foolishly not purchasing them) a while ago now, probably more than 6 months ago. They were gone pretty quickly.

+1

My color 8 captoe boot is on the Plaza with Double leather (LSBH). Whether it is the Plaza version or the Grant version (a wonderful boot in its own right), I too would suggest that it is perhaps Alden's most versatile boot. Why? It can be worn with anything from Jeans to a suit, and I say that about very few models,
whether from Alden or otherwise.

I agree ^^^

Somehow I snagged away Namor's #8 Commando on Plaza, and even with the sole as is, I have no qualms wearing it with a suit. I really appreciate Alden's low-profile commando.

Thank you very much! They are a beautiful shoe. They were done by LeatherSoul in 2011. I am a huge Balmoral fan. :-)

Went Cigar LWB today. Today was their first trek off the safety of carpet.

They look like stinking liquid chocolate to me. :-)

how would you say the grant & plaza in same size compare?

I think it depends on your feet. I'm a 10.5D Plaza, 10D Grant. I think of the Grant as a Barrie with a pointier toe.
