guilty

No man's desk should be without at least a buffing cloth.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. The color says "petrol"; the pic appears navy. Not familiar with the color "petrol". I'm assuming it's like petrol, as in gasoline (so brownish)?

I pre-ordered these too, and for the first time got a C width. I'm finding that the narrower toe box, flat welt and toe stitching make the Barrie Tanker look SO different from say, a D width Barrie LWB.
I think this Barrie Tanker (D width) is similar to my others E width shoes.

^ I have the Tanker in D width and do not think the fit is remotely wide, maybe the opposite. Weird.

Speaking of which:

For the foreseeable future, I expect my favorite selfies will be Tanker selfies.

Okay so over the holidays I win a pair if these from EBay. I think I got a pretty good deal on them for well under $500 shipped.
Now, I was told thy were worn about a dozen times, never cleaned and never treed.
The shoes came with a box and bags.
I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
The one thing I am bummed about is the size. They are a 10E. I have a pair of calf WT boots from LS in a 10E cause the D was way too snug. Saw these in the same size and pulled the trigger. They are a wee but loose but nothing a thin insole can't cure.
Next step will be a wipe down and then tree them for a few days and then take a brush to them.

Anything else I should do?

On to the pics.

I think I remember seeing "petrol" shown as a fairly bright blue.  But maybe the brain synapses aren't firing properly...

Anyone seen these from the shoemart?

http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-mens_9_eyelet_wing_tip_boot_natural_chrome_excel/pvc-ald-mxsbd-44625_ald_m_9_eyelet_wing_tip_boot.html

Says "carefully chosen French Calfskin". I was under the impression they only use Horween.

I imagine they are referring to the calf used on the black and dark tan calf models. I understand Alden's CXL all comes from Horween.

So these are pretty much Brixton clones with a natural sole. Is there ever a "need" to have two pair of natural cxl boots? I already own the natural cxl indy, but these are calling my name.

I really need some more boots with Commando soles. Those Natural CXL "Brixton Clones" are almost perfect.. .
