Go with the color 8 shell PTB. Then consider about 40 other models before the navy one. biggrin.gif

+100, no offense to many here who like the navy PTB...  while it is a very nice, casual shoe, it isn't even in the same class as the 990.  I'm with SFTG, I can think of a dozen other makeups I would choose before this one.  That said, after acquiring more than a dozen pairs of Alden, I would love to pick up this pair of Navy PTBs! :nodding:  (if not this one, the navy suede SWB would be awesome as well)

Which ever you choose, enjoy often and in great health my friend!

Because I'm probably not the only person on this forum who has broken in a pair of Aldens while walking around the house in pajamas....

Does anyone know of anywhere selling ravello shell boots? I guess shoes would be okay, too, but boots would be preferable.

These look great, by the way!

nephew,
thank you

nephew,
wear only in good health

Which one would you choose and why?  I have never owned any shell cordovan items and am unfamiliar with their care.  I plan on wearing these both in a business casual environment, as well as on the weekend with jeans.  I fear that with the shell, they'd be more suited for the work environment than with jeans?

Thanks for all your help!

Not even a close call, color 8 PTB. It is way more versatile and if properly cared for shell can last you 30 years or more and will always look great.

Of course you have both. :fonz:
