Thanks, MrDV. I just need a #8 wingtip boot and I'll be good with #8 boots. (But don't quote me on that just in case biggrin.gif)

It's hard to find a US retailer that has the natural CXL Indy boots that ship to Canada that uses USPS (UPS and Fedex are not an option), so if anyone has any other recommendations, please let me know.

They offered to send me a new pair, but I opted for a refund, only b/c I didn't want to risk having the same issue again after seeing a few people post similar issues on this thread.  Some boots they sold had this issue, others were fine.  Go ahead and order a pair.  Unionmade stands behind their product and their customer service was exemplary despite QC issues at Alden.  With their responsiveness I wouldn't worry a bit.  Good luck with it!

Curious about shell.

Why is it that I see some shoes with rolls on them and some without?

Is it because the shoe was sized improperly?  Broken in wrong? or just the person's gait?

Thanks.

Probably mostly #3 and sometimes #1. Everyone's feet are different.

Mainly the person's gait, along with the styling of the shoe. Sometimes it even can depend on the thickness of the shell used in a given pair. Some of my shoes have no real rolls while others, like my chukkas, have huge rolls. I generally like some light rolling in my shell, but others hate it.

I think it mostly depends on the style of the shoe.  LWBs tend not to have many rolls.  The PTB will most certainly have noticeable creasing because of it just having one piece of shell.  One's gait, improper fitting, etc... all play a part also.  I assure you though, that the PTB I just posted was properly sized and fits me quite well; there is no way to avoid the creasing/rolls with that shoe...

unless of course you make a new year's resolution to NOT flex and bend your ankles and forefoot when walking, correct Sazon?? :rotflmao:
