Very excited today! I finally got a pair of 990's, which is the shoe that initially got me into Aldens, from this last round of TSM seconds. I got very lucky, I've definitely purchased firsts with more egregious defects:

Great buy.

You can easily fix that tiny blemish.

Best of luck with them.

What is the best product to use to refinish a natural and/or antique edge.

When there is a dark edge, it is much easier to find products.

A good example is the Leffot  LWB with antique edge...

I do like to keep my edges looking good, but I don't know of any clear or nearly transparent edge dressing.

Two examples of what I mean shown below:

Thanks Beebs.  I will likely go with the 9016.  The saddles may have to wait.

thanks bkotsko, I'm definitely not worried about that little thing!

As Tifosi mentioned, I've found AE's Chili edge dressing is a good match

I have the AE chili, but it does add some color.

Not a lot, but it does have a burgundy hue.

I like the shoes, but I really like that your still playing blades.

The qualifying word missing here is "qualifying,"  as in you're still trying to play blades.  :rotflmao:

B - I use the AE neutral edge trim. It's the closet thing I've found.

The more I see pics of whiskey PTBs with antique edge trim, the more I think that if I had to have one whiskey shoe, that would be the one. Don't really know why, but I'm really drawn to it. If only I could find a pair in my size...maybe one of the Alden branded retailers will have a pre-order someday.

Oh well, nothing beats the feel of a purely struck blade. I'm a Mizuno guy myself, but nice combo smile.gif

RTP, you're a Ravens fan, right? A friend just called me last night and offered me a ticket for Sunday!
