however, it looks like it's not actually cigar, but color 8. I think this is a second from the recent leffot run: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I can't see any defect at all. I think I'll be keeping these

good looking king gunboats, wear only in good health

The saddle pattern results in a shoe that is is smaller and sleeker than other Barrie shoes. I've observed this with my Leffot saddles. This fact also greatly enhances the standard color 8 saddle, as Uncle's photos show.

I was in Leffot not too long ago looking at their Alden saddles and I was thinking that the shape appeared to lend itself to a sleeker fit.....Thanks for resolving all doubt and putting a future dent in my wallet

Styleforum is exercising their best fourth grade humor today, and it has never been so funny! Can we vote on whether, from this point forward, we refer to NSTs as (1) ACTs, or (2) shoe boobs?

It may be healthy for us to incorporate the feedback from significant others / people that are not obsessed with Aldens from time to time, as it provides a more holistic review system before dropping several hundreds of dollars, only to realize that one is wearing ACTs / shoe boobs.

Am I the only one that doesn't like saddles that are all one color? I have a pair of suede/CXL saddles from a different maker, and I like those, but it seems like when a pair of saddles is all one color, it loses some of its appeal, which to me is seeing a different color (and many times a different material) in the midsection compared to the rest of the shoe. If I was going to get a shoe that was one consistent color/material, a saddle would probably be my last choice.

There is also the legend that the characteristic slot in the strap of the penny loafer was originally modeled after the lips of G.H. Bass's wife... "kissing" each pair of shoes as they left the factory.

I really like them myself, just because I like the unique brogue pattern that they can add to a collection.  They are able to stand alone as a style just like you can have a pair of Color 8 wingtips and a pair of Color 8 PTB's.

I'm not a fan either.  Reminds me of a butt-crack.

@blackboard:

Shoobs.

As for saddle colorschemes, I'd be okay with the same color but different textures. However I tend to agree that they look better with a contrast. Maybe it's because I've grown up golfing!

Hey fellas, quick question, friendly question, searched thread and couldn’t find an answer. What kind of chap-stick do you guys recommend? Im looking to get some time off so ill need to be kissing ass. I mean a lot of NST and this thread is full of the bootlicking and cigarnosing, so to speak. Could you guys recommend something with all day protection? Maybe even a spray? Thx, bye now
