I'm thinking it's more of an import issue than chemicals.  Lots of stuff from other countries can't be imported to California.  Kinda funny they don't restrict import of whacked out people and the sexually confused to California and instead focus on stuff like this.

See Ya,

Bakes-I'm not debating your experience with the Alden belts in Cigar and #8, but my cigar belts in 1.25" and 1.5" are multi color and are defiantly light to medium cigar color and not close to #8. Same for my whiskey with a lot of variance in the 3 pieces used, but a great match for whiskey shoes since they too seem to vary a lot in color. No doubt belts have a wide variance in color.  However I got lucky and could not be happier with my Alden Cigar and Whiskey belts.  I did buy the Horween 1 piece belt in #8, and dark cognac and those are very close in color and on the dark side.

You callin' me a liar?  j/k

Its more that the Color 8 is not that burgundy, a little burgundy in places, but more brown than a pair of Alden Color 8 shoes.  The cigar is how you describe yours.  Neither of them have that unique-to-alden waxy glossy finish, but why should they, they weren't made by Alden.

Here are some pics if you don't believe me.

This is the end where they are distinguishable.  In other sections they look even more similar.  In the closet, I have to hold them up next to each other to make sure that I'm selecting the right one.

I agree, almost identical.  Your cigar is much darker than mine.  i don't have mine at the office, will take a few photos and post later.

I feel like you won't really get any changes in color like you do with brown boots, just the scratches. I was tempted by a pair of those, but I think I'd rather get some Natural Chromexcel ones. Thanks for the help.

I have the Fat Herbie and love it.  Can't even feel it compared to my old tri-fold wallet (no lump butt anymore).  This new wallet 'Tony the Ant' looks appealing.

Whiskey Wednesday, anyone?

I pulled the trigger on the black Indy 401s earlier this week because it was on sale. I'm sure glad I did!

I think they would actually look nicer if you turned the stitching black. I mean, I love the white stitching on the brown variants, but I think these would be better all black. Natural would probably be beautiful though.

Not the greatest deal, but getting any Alden cordovan on sale is pretty rare. Also a pretty good selection of various shoes in the rare cordovan colors (whiskey, ravello, etc.) at full price.

Are those the Tremont last SWBs?

I'm hoping to get a sizing recommendation from you all.

I recently had my feet measured as follows:
toe length 11-11.5
arch length 12
width c

Over the next 6 months I intend to buy (in order): 9071, cigar longwings, and ravello LHS.

I currently have a pair of 10.5 D cigar longwings which fit well in the width and the ball but are about 1" too long.

Can someone recommend a a size, specifically for the 9071 since I am ready to purchase/order those now?

Thanks!!!!
