I have a word doc typed up with a pic of the shoes, along with what an eBay description should read, and what beginning bids should be.

I have also thought about entering into a deal with someone on here who is the same size as me, to buy them for a set discounted price, then whatever they don't want they can sell. Of course, this option will require someone with a good amount of liquidity and trustworthiness.

I don't know you, but I already like you.

Can anyone help me find a Chamois or reversed chamois Indy in a 9 or 9.5 with Commando sole, I can't find a proxy for TSM so i need to find that boot somewhere else.

Thank you

Mac's dark soled cigar longwings demonstrate once again how big of an impact sole color has on a shoe...

I think it makes the cigar appear lighter.

+1 I thought they were ravello

The best way to tell cigar apart from the other colors is that cigar really has no red in it - ravello and color 8 both do. Mac's pair has the classic brown/olive tone, even though it is lighter than some recent cigar.

Single oiled flex welt sole

Overall the Dover looks sleeker and smaller than the 990 in the same size.

I don't get a 360 degree welt on a single sole. These would look better with a double.

I don't ever recall seeing an unlined Alden shoe (whether cordovan, suede, CXL, loafer, chukka, ptb, etc) on anything but a flex welt, single oiled sole. Putting a double leather sole on such a shoe defeats the purpose - which is making a more lightweight, flexible shoe. I think the style of welt is a third consideration.

EDIT - The Brooks Brothers unlined LHS is on a regular single leather sole, but it isn't oiled, so I guess that is an exception. But the other unlined models (suede PTBs, chromexcel PTBs, suede chukkas, cordovan PTBs, suede LHS, etc) are all on oiled single flex welt soles...

I thought Mac's cigar gunboats were the Marlowe's at first glance

I agree with this - and, in my experience, it doesn't just look smaller, it is smaller.

100% in both length(ever so slightly) and width- I measured just to be sure ;)
