any retailer have a #8 captoe boot with antique edges? (besides the now long sold out Tres Bien model) The combination of #8 and antique edge is really stunning imo

That fitting chart also says the Aberdeen Last is longer but I think most would say it fits true to size.  I size down (10.5D to 10D) for Barrie and Trubalance.  I've never tried the Plaza, so I couldn't say for sure.  You might be best served to order the two sizes you think would be right and return the one that doesn't fit as well.  Maybe a veteran SF person could give you more useful suggestions with fitting.

IMO, Aberdeen and Plaza are TTS. I have various models, shell and calf, on each last.

Excellent loafers uncle. Wanted to visit PS to see if the manager there could help ID my loafers but could not make it down. I might actually see if Nick V. can ask since I think he is acquainted with the PS manager.

Trying to decide on a #8 boot... NST, wingtip, or cap toe (TB last is too casual so it is out of the running). Leaning on the NST boot...

I know this might sound kind of silly, but I think we should organize an Alden "happy hour" event in certain major cities...would anyone be game for this?   Not sure what kind of turnout we'd have, and if people are as interesting in real life as they are on this forum, but just a thought.  My other thought would be to organize an annual (or one-time) Alden factory site visit, perhaps even turn it into a weekend, where you could bring your wives, girlfriends, etc.  Then again, maybe better to maintain anonymity...happy Friday everyone.

Sorry for a bit of a necro-post...

But I can imagine trying to sell this to my wife, who already just rolls her eyes when the boxes arrive...
"Hey honey, wanna go for a weekend jaunt to Middleborough. Mass?"
"Um, yea sure". flips through yellow pages for a divorce attorney

No interest in a NY get together? I could see if Mike and the Ep gang would be down. I have two weeks before work starts again though, so I'm a little nuts at the mo, but I'd love to try.
