I have this faint hope that when that last pair sells they'll restock a full complement of sizes.

Funny thing is that I've put that in my shopping cart a dozen times and haven't pulled the trigger yet (I should have a few months ago when they had a 20% coupon that applied to Aldens as well). The main thing holding me back (aside from the expense), is that it actually has a dark edge & welt, not the antique that's picture.

Same thing happened to me! I've come to realize that a color 8 LWB with commando sole could easily be my OneShoe, since it goes with just about everything in my closet.

Got my eBay Hanovers today.  these babies are mint, not even broke in.  FYI-for me Hanovers fit TTS, size 14D fits perfect!

See Ya,

Steve

I don't know...something about a heavy, shell shoe with a crepe sole doesn't seem quite right.

It seems like the brief consensus from earlier was commando over the double waterloc, but it looks to be a significant price difference between the Unionmade and Epaulet makeups once shipping's included.

Yeah, my preference is for commando sole over crepe - it's a more classic look while still having a little extra cushion and protection from the weather. But the crepe sole is very comfy, and I like the casual look of it; it's just less versatile, imo.

Yeah, it's growing on me too....easier to change out laces for more casual looks as well.

plus the crepe is like a magnet for dirt. I had a pair of alden shoes on crepe, after a while I didn't even want to walk throught my house with them for fear of the filth they were dragging with them.

Kind of like walking around on sponges imo

Looks great, Unc.

Went with the straight tips today:

I prefer Dainite because it is comparatively easy to keep clean.

For viewing fun LHS in color #8 and whiskey:

Cheers.

^ Those look great. I may go that route when the day comes.

^^ I will be doing this pretty soon - but hopefully I'll do it in Red Dainite

For more formal shoes and boots exposed to weather, I'd take the heel design of Dainite over Commando. For casual boots, I like the look and slightly cushier feel of Commando. Really no need for crepe for me.

Wowzers. Amazing looking wingtips there Steve! Truly amazing color. Looks like I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some NOS 13's...
