Also, buying separates (requisite if you have a decent drop) from them is generally really annoying. Most BB cuts are not very flattering either.

BB always has decent sales. As noted, the suits are union made in the USA and I have yet to find equal quality for the money. The MTOs advertised in the Times and WSJ from what I understand are measured here but made in Hong Kong and generally end up costing more than advertised. Now I'm done. The point was black bluchers are fine with a suit unless you run in a 5 th avenue Brioni circle.

Epaulet? Taylor Stitch? WvG? That's just from the forum.

Another beautiful SF day. Color 8 boots in play. The waterlock soles are very comfortable.

Thanks for the comment. Sounds like the same issue and "boot fart" is a great description. I really hope mine resolves as yours did. Hope there is a fix if it doesn't.

I can create the sound by walking or by tapping the ball of my foot/boot on the ground, although it's more pronounced when I walk. These are irregulars from Shoemart, for what it's worth.

Any similar experiences and-or ideas on what the heck is going on? It's driving me nuts.

Thanks.

A similar thing happened to me as I was breaking in a pair of shell boots. As the leather and cork bed broke in, a small air pocket formed on the outside edge of my left boot. As I walked, air was forced out the top that resulted in a weird boot fart as I walked around. It only last for a couple of weeks (thank the Lord) and now they're perfectly snug and broken in.

Your situation might be totally different, but just thought I'd share.

Beautiful shoe.  It amazes me how much they look like my Cigar LWBs in certain light.

I didn't even know the difference between an Alden and an Aldo as of 2012. Like Steve, I've collected a fair number of shells and some other great pairs over the last 10 months. I know I couldn't have done it in as educated a fashion without the support, candor and shoe porn that so many of you have offered. Here's hoping for more fun times as we head toward a 2014 that, hopefully, will be full of ravello and cigar Brixtons and other grails we've been seeking.

Also, I sometimes feel bad that I don't post pics more frequently. I'm not always by the computer during the day and don't have the time to take dslr pics while rushing around. In any event, my humble contribution for today is a quick iphone snapshot of a recent acquisition: tobacco chamois/oiled nubuck Greenwich boots from Leffot paired with Pure Blue Japan xx-013 selvedge. Went with an 8E instead of my usual 8.5D Barrie; was worried at first when they started out snug, but as of today (4th or 5th wearing), the cork seems to be relaxing a bit, making for a much more proper, if not comfy fit. Great for a yucky weather day like today.

Doc: I agree wholeheartedly.  Also, I really like those suede boots.  That's a fantastic casual look.

I'm not sure how good a deal BB is anymore. Retail for a Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece Madison cut suit is $2100, not exactly a bargain, and they are made in Italy not the USA. You guys might not believe this but a more modern cut suit with great fabrics is being sold at J Crew of all places.

I've had this very thought about J Crew many times, but have been a bit shy to go out on a limb here on SF, where I know some look down their noses on J Crew. Guess I waited until a gentleman I know to be as distinguished as BeSpiff to feel emboldened to say it out loud. I find I get the most compliments when sporting a JC loro piana or worsted wool suit paired (blasphemously) with cigar lwb's smile.gif

I'm waiting for the day when someone at work or my wife catches on to the fact that I only wear these shoes on Wednesdays...
Thus having to explain the weekly holiday, Whiskey Wednesday!

Happy Whiskey Wednesday!

Whiskey is a really fine looking color and looks good on both of you gents. Does anyone know if any seller has any whiskey in Barrie 8.5 D? Would love a pair of those LWBs. Enjoy your purchases.
