My primary objective was to add a little pop to the toe where the perforation is. That's where the dullness was. I'm pleased with the outcome (though I'm no camera buff and I don't think this pic does the true look justice). I don't know if I would call the difference as being darker. It's just got a little ''pop' to it, which is precisely what I was after. Ultimately I may pick up some VSC because of the large size but for now I'm fine with saphir.
Great result. I will likely invest in some new shoe care stuff soon - new brushes, new buffing cloths, Saphir neutral cordovan cream for whiskey and ravello and a big can of VSC for all of these shoes.
I may do this with my cigar LHS (which are 9.5EE and a bit loose in the heel).
