Apologies for the lousy lighting and iPhone photo, but I figured these needed a spin out after having been cooped up in the closet during the summer months.  Hopefully, tomorrow the tankers!

question for all..

would ravello chukka be redundant whilst owning ravello PTB? I'm 99% casual dressed

Backordered J Crew Cap Toe boots I ordered at the end of July (with the 20% off promo code) just shipped. Friday the 13th - take that!!

How do you feel about Ravello? If you really like it then go for it! If it's just another color in your collection, then maybe not. I have a color 8 PTB and wouldn't hesitate to get a color 8 chukka if I could get a C width.

I ordered the J Crew PCT boots in August with the 20% off code, and my card was charged last night as well. Checked my order status just now and the status say "released." Not sure what that means...hopefully they ship soon! Although, I just moved and for some reason they still have the boots shipping to my old address. I emailed them to change the address before these actually ship, I hope I caught the error in time. There's a new problem, Aldens shipping too quickly!

beatle,,

did you go 11.5d? if so, and you run into an issue receiving your pair, let me know. I have a pair here that I do not believe have hit concrete that I might unload. I got them at a jcrew discount of some sort awhile back.

I went for 12D. I have #8 Brixtons in 12D and those have broken in quite nicely. With reports of the PCT boot running narrow as well, I'm hoping these 12's work out for me. If they're too big, I'll give you a shout on those 11.5's.

I would personally opt for some more variety, but I also find myself enforcing variety for the sake of it. I also think the amount of variety/non-redundancy you need depends on the size of your collection (obvious statement, I know). Anyway, if you love ravello and plain toes (and what Alden fan doesn't), I could see owning both.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Fine pair B-Snob.  I'm anxious for the 95+ temps to go away so I can enjoy my shell boots.  Are the tankers a new pair arriving in the mail tomorrow?  Post some pics my friend!

If you really enjoy ravello, I'd say go for it.  I have no regrets with the number of color 8 that I own.

Congrats CEE... fairly underrated boot if you ask me.  Enjoy them often and post some pics!

Good luck my friends.  It is certainly a boot worth the wait.  Enjoy!

I'm going to agree with Papa Doble on this one.  Inefficient allocation of shoe capital IMO.  I strongly prefer the PTB to the Chukka anyway.

thanks for the feedback gentleman.. I find myself getting to the point where I think after ravello PTB, LWB, chukka, and cigar LWB, I'll be done. have enough #8, wear little black, and have no desire for whiskey.
