As long as babies are still being born with feet there will be people to make shoes for them. With over 58 million horses in the world, and over 10 million in the United States alone, the chances of running out of horse butt leather for your prized shell cordovan shoes are slim.
I have the LS Plaza monk in #8. I'm a TTS 10.25. I generally wear a 10D Barrie (but have a couple pairs of 9.5s that fit well) and a 10.5D in the Plaza. Perhaps it was due to them being shell, but a 10D in this fit perfectly. I have a couple other pairs of the same monk in calf and they're 10.5s. Hope this helps. It's a fantastic shoe which I think looks better on the Plaza than the Aberdeen.
They are actually one of the best fitting pair of shoes I own. I did not have them tied super tight in the photo but tightened them once I got to the office. I am not overly concerned about the crease as it will brush out pretty quickly and shoes are meant to be worn
My point was that creases are expected on the vamp, not on the cap itself.
He will have to get an extra $100 on eBay to cover their fees. It should be interesting to see what they go for, probably $850-$900.
I am still bitter I lost the #4 Chukkas. Been 3 months and still not over it...
I lost out on some #4 saddles from LS about a month ago. Opening bid was $399 and I figured I'd have to fork out about $500. Ended up maxing my bid at $615. ThT one still stings as well. At least these shoes are new and price/motives aside, you must admit its a beautiful shoe.
What would you gentlemen order if alden offered a one-time-only special order?
Really, really tough question. Ultimately cigar is my favorite though so I think it would be cigar NST boot on Plaza last with bind eyelets and a commando sole.
Close behind it would probably be a closed heel captoe boot like the J Crew version, but in Ravello
