Got the black cordovan Indy's in the mail today biggrin.gif  and the Barrie last fits my foot shape much better than the truebalance.

this is my first pair of cordovan boots and they are MUCH stiffer than the CXL. so i am going to have to wear them

around the house for a few days before i try and spend a whole day in them

and more good news, I am getting a symmetrical creasing pattern bigstar[1].gif  I was so worried that one boot would go all funny on me.

but so far I love them and I really hope they live up to my expectations.

Standing in Whole Foods trying to decide what I want for lunch just now and some guy working there dropped an enormous pan of cooked broccoli rabe (in olive oil and garlic) next to me. Now, I realize my suede chukkas aren't Rembrandt's, but they look a bit crap with oil splattered all over them! I immediately Googled the situation and saw that a healthy dose of corn starch supposedly helps absorb the oil - does anyone have an alternate / better suggestion?

I cleaned my suede Quoddy shoes (I know they're not Alden) with a tooth brush and some mild detergent.

Alden suede is pretty tough...as we see here:

they were a makeup that Alden of carmel had that i missed out on. I just got lucky that they popped up for sale.

Now I am saving for a pair of Alden shell boots in Cigar, if I ever find any......

1494 seconds, fits a bit tight instep wise and width wise, will it stretch?

oil stains not too visible neither, looks like it would after a month or two of wear which is nice
