I preordered them in advance not sure if/what stock they may have. Technically they aren't in yet but should be any minute now.

Not to stir up debate again but these are the perforated tip what I would call the straight tip vs the punched jcrew version.

No, I don't think so.  I think the 2145 has been around long before Epaulet came out with the Alden Alt Wien.  However, I believe "Alt Wien" is a particular type/model of Budipester shoe (with the cap toe medallion pattern) that is more of a "country-style" derby shoe (rounder, built like a tank), as opposed to a dress shoe.  While the 2145 is a Blucher, it is on the sleek/dressy Aberdeen last.

However, some of Vass's Alt Wien models are built on a sleeker last...  http://www.styleforum.net/t/130044/the-ultimate-vass-porn-thread/930#post_3725401

It may be that Alt Wien just means a Hungarian Medallion CTB ( I really don't know.)

I've tried to do some internet digging on this but not much is out there to clearly define, so I may be inaccurate with this.  Maybe someone like MoneyWellSpent or others could shed some light.

About as clean of a dress boot that Alden makes IMO.

I believe most recraft/restoration jobs (B Nelson, AE, Alden, etc...) include a fresh new cork bed without the original owner's imprint.  Not sure if that's what you mean by "flattening out" the insole/imprint.  You do not have to specify that with B Nelson as that is included in both of their recraft/resole packages.

"alt wien" from German = Old Vienna

Alt can still be understood as "different" so another choice in derby  shoe as RTP stated
