Well, the poor guy is so clueless it'd be like picking on someone helpless. I'm sure he'd think I was even more weird for paying $450+ for a pair of shoes. It's best to just let the joke be on him...on here biggrin.gif

Actually Chocolate Brown.  Lighting and photo app make them look grey

I'm also considering the Epaulet trainers that they just put up.  Not crazy about any of the colors except the navy.  The cognac and grey look a little too much like old men shoes.  No offense intended to those who may like them.  Just me.

I guess I could just wear my AE Long Branch boots but I'm not sure if they'd hold up well for all-day walking, etc.

Fwiw, J. Gilbert in Seattle has Alden Indy boots in reverse chamois on a crepe sole, if this might be what you are looking for (http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Shoes-Chamois_Indy_Boot_286.htm). The stock is limited to a few sizes now, but I was told they should be getting two restocks this fall.

Thanks rk, the pants are caramel duck rivets from Epaulet. Lots of members like to pair alden w Epaulet trousers. Beware, very addictive, very high quality gear.

Nice shoes, classy response. I try not to engage if I don't think it'll benefit either party. I also think additional info on your loafers would only add to your co-workers confusion.
I LOVE to talk about shoes if someone's interested, but I only smile and carry on when someone makes a joke about my clothes.
