Between Double oak leather, double waterlock, commando and Crepe(not double but similar in size) which one do you consider the more comfortable ?

I know single waterlock is very light and comfortable but haven't tried the double.

Also between single waterlock and Crepe for all day wearing but not a lot of walking?.

Thanks.

Single waterlock models tend to feel the best "out of the box" and are great if you are not walking much

If there is going to be a lot of walking in the day, "double waterlock" or double leather provide a lot of support. Crepe is probably best for all day walking, commando is best for all condition walking.

2. Dark edge trim (dressier)
3. double leather sole, with double water-loc as 2nd choice.
4. Alden of DC

Let's get it on !

Last time I was in Alden DC, Kathy mentioned that she can only submit new styles twice a year. I recall that September was one of the months when she would submit her new proposed styles. We may want to get this going to get into that window.

The double leather soles on Alden's shoes are excellent. I especially like the double water-lock soles on my Ravello LWB's, they're super comfortable and really tuff.

Uncle, I've never seen an Indy look so rich and stylish. Are they on the tru-balance last? Very nice boots sir.

+1. She typically puts an order through in the Aug/Sep time frame. That's the time I remember for the Whiskey Indy she did for SF 2 years back.

Does anyone have a side by side comparison of Barrie last vs AE 5? Just for reference.

All this talk of waterlock gets me thinking. I'd like to replace the crepe sole on my snuff suede barrie chukkas with waterlock when the crepe wears out. I understand that Alden won't resole with anything other than what was spec'd at the time of manufacture. Has anyone seen an aftermarket/non-OEM waterlock type of sole?
