True...I don't doubt that someone saw some shells stacked up at Horween, but I also can't take that same story and assume that Horween and/or Alden are just sitting on shells and purposely not fulfilling orders that are between 2 and 3 years old. The stacks o' shell could have been already spoken for by other manufactures as well. Perhaps the shell was of the less quality. Alden will sell shell make ups regardless. There is no need to sit on them as they will almost always sell their stock. Even if it was 1000 hides that's only 1000 pairs of shoes minus any errors.
