quick boots vs shoe sizing question:

I like a pretty close fit on my shoes/boots and can wear either 10.5d or 11d in tru balance or barrie, and 11d in the van last feels perfect (i also have a 11d copley last suede loafer too...though it's probably a tad small).

In a shell barrie last shoe, i take 11d because the foot can shift forward more easily than in a boot. I'm about to pull the trigger on a shell boot and kind of want to size down to 10.5d as the high lacing keeps your foot back a bit more and my toes wouln't have contact.

Does this logic make sense?

For Color 8, I recommend Alden Color 8 Wax (once in a while).

Not sure about Ravello, anyone know how one might lighten Ravello to get it a bit more like Whiskey?

When you say that first part of the list is available for pre-order, does that mean you can reserve a pair in a size that they already have on the way...or can you call them up, give them any size, and they will be able to add that to the batch of shoes they already have on order? Definitely interested in the navy suede chukka - do you know if it's on the Leydon?

I use Alden's brown for Ravello, but I prefer to keep a darker shade.

What's the best way to deal with excessive blooming?

One thing I've read is that blooming is more likely with cooler temperatures, and that seems true for my shoes, so maybe keeping your blooming shoes in a warmer place can help. I have a couple pairs of shells that bloom a lot and I just brush them well whenever I want to wear them. Not sure what you can do to prevent it, though.
