Aldens are clunky. That's their charm. Monks are supposed to be sleek. Clunky + monks = bad. Also, white + most shoes = bad. But, to my surprise, the actual product is even worse than I imagined.

Took delivery of the Color 4 Wingtip boot today. These babies are gorgeous, but I'm having a hard time justifying them when I just got my Ravello WT boots not even 2 months ago.
The Color 4 is superb, but it is quite close to Ravello.
What say ye, fellow Alden aficionados?

Those number 4 boots are sweet. i would have jumped on board if I knew for certain they would be all eyelet. Enjoy them!
Shoemart web site lists them as 5 eyelet and 4 speedhooks...hm?

Hmm I'm a 10.5 as well, didn't get a call yet. And was told it would be with speedhooks as well. Did you preorder super early or request the all eyelets?

I think this is right, I wouldn't wait for a call, they only called me because my credit card company was blocking the charge. I tried to get a tracking number but they told me they don't give out tracking numbers.

Received my unlined tan chukka seconds today and they are in more acceptable condition than the first quality pair I bought a couple of weeks back. Glad I returned them. Saved myself $150.



Only defect I can see is a slight dark spot and textural change you'll notice (or won't) on the top of the left toe box.

I didn't get a call. I called them because I happened to check my cc and saw a charge authorization and wanted to know what it was.
