I would say don't use Neats Foot Oil on Natural CXL.  I accidentally spilled some Neats Foot on my Natural CXL boots and they darkened considerably (dark brown).  Nick from Horween suggested that the stain would fade after a while, but I haven't seen that happen yet (a few weeks later).

In an email, Nick stated that he uses Venetian Shoe Cream but Saphir is good too.

Last week i cleaned my Alden NST Tanker made of natural CXL for the 1st time - they showed some indigo stains from my raw Denims

After cleaning with Saphir Renomat they showed up very light - the left one got one coat with an small amount of Neats Foot Oil applicated with a rag

this is how they look after two heavy coats with Neats Foot Oil applicated with a soft brush - they darkend significantly

I will show you a pic after some wear in sunlight in 2 weeks

It has arrived and it's beautiful:) Dealing with Alden of DC and Kathy is a pleasure and they've sent an extra pair of laces.

ugh.... that black sole really ruins this for me ... something about the black under brown look that just kills it

Much prefer the version below, with what appears to be a standard leather sole with regular brownish-reddish edging (I could be wrong though since I can't see the bottom):

advan031, your boots will look great after months of wear:

(i just used some saphir reno and some alden brown paste wax on them)

Broke out my snuff suede longwings from J. Crew for the first time today. I ordered them in the fall and the order kept getting pushed back and then didn't arrive until just a couple of weeks ago. However, at almost 40% less than what they charge for them now, I cannot complain too much.

Same shoe - antique "mid sole" with a commando rubber sole

Trust me, this is a great shoe

Why is that? Did they give you some money back because you had to wait so long?

I was able to use a code for 25% off, I called to complain when the shipment got delayed for the second time and was able to get another $40 off, and they look to have raised the price about $30 from when I bought them as well.

Hey guys, thanks to everyone that replied regarding my separating indy's I contacted Alden and they suggested taking them back to j. Crew and then they would send them on to Alden for repairs. If this goes as smooth as they have implied it will it will have at least restored some of the faith I had in Alden boots.

ugh.. sounds like an awful experience... and good luck getting them back anytime soon .. I'd guess 2 months and that's a conservative bet
