I snapped my shoe laces on my Color 8 Perforated Cap Toe Bal Oxfords yesterday morning and need to get new laces... Anyone know the best place to get them from? Would prefer to not pay an absorbanant price to ship laces. Thanks!

In the past I have called the Alden factory or company stores, and they have always sent them free of charge... One of the nice things Alden does do...

This is not directly germane to your question, but these post-20 year-old shoes also look great -- that is, they have held up extremely well.  They have each been resoled at least twice - maybe three times.  The heels have been replaced many times.  I have always cared for them reasonably well - always used shoe trees, polished as needed -- but not babied them.  I have been amazed at how well they have held up and it is a big reason why I am such a fan of Alden shoes.
Thank you sir for sharing this story about your Alden shoes.

To avoid exorbitant shipping prices, I would recommend driving to your local cobbler.

I just picked these up at Brooks Brothers flash sale for $137! I am pretty sure they're Alden LWB in alpine grain...

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Black-Fleece-Long-Wingtip/01AH,default,pd.html?dwvar_01AH_Color=BLCK&contentpos=59&cgid=

The sale might be worth checking out as they had Chukkas as well.

IIRC they might be on the Grant last which would be even better!

Great pick-up! Definitely slowing down although I am thinking of maybe a pair of #8 wingtip boots...
