Has anyone experienced ankle pain after a few wearings of their new Indys? I wore mine about 4 times and killed my left inner ankle. Couldn't run for two weeks. I'm hoping they break in so I don't have to sell them.

Thanks,
Bob

Yep, I never had boot hurt my feet more. They were comfortable when I first wore them but after long walks or hikes they killed my feet. And my feet would hurt for days after. I had wore them about 30-40 times - I finally sold them on E-Bay. But yours may still break in ok - give them a little more time.

Question for all the Canadian Alden wearers....

I'm in Toronto and didn't have any luck finding a pair of Indy's so I resorted to ordering them from the States (Need Supply to be correct). Found out today that I'm going to get dinged for $74 in duty when they are delivered today. I'm no expert but since Alden boots are manufactured in the States doesn't that apply under NAFTA as a "duty-free" item? I can understand if you're a border guard and it isn't noted that the shoes are made in the States thus charging duty on the value, just wondering about everyone's experience and if I should email Need Supply.

Thanks!

Depending on what shipping service your shoes are traveling by, that $74 fee might not be a duty fee but is actually a brokerage fee levied by the courier for the extra work that they supposedly have to go through with international deliveries. At least, that's what I've discovered in my experience.

Sounds like you're with UPS. They have insane brokerage fees. You're probably also paying HST

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the fees if Canada Post is delivering either eh? What a racket...

Shouldn't be high brokerage fees if Canada Post delivers. If there's duty, contest it. That said, if you 're in Toronto, Nomad on Queen West had Indys last time I was there.

What size are you Joachim?

Hello HorseHide,

in Barrie Last 11 B/D fits nearly perfect - a very minor squeeze feeling in the toebox of my right (longer) foot.
10,5 C/E is possible but remarkable heel slipping, unfortunately.

^ My issue is width, not length (insert snarky "that's not what she said" comment here). The unlined feel wide to me. Not sure I could/should size down anymore (already 1/2 size down because of the Barrie), but I do think that this shoe would fit me better in an A/C width. They are pretty great shoes, maybe I'll send them back to Alden to be relasted as an A/C.
